JAMMU, Nov 27: Rich tributes were paid to former Finance, Minister, and veteran politician of the State, Girdhari Lal Dogra on his 30th death anniversary by political leaders across their party affiliations at a function organized by Shri Girdhari Lal Dogra Memorial Trust at Dogra Chowk Jammu University road here today.
Paying tributes to Dogra, Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh, said the role of late leader is exemplary as he has rendered yeomen’s contribution in socio-political arena of the State.
The Deputy Chief Minister said this after paying floral tributes at memorial of the late leader.

Dr Singh said the contribution of late Girdhari Lal Dogra has no parallels in the annals of the society as he selflessly contributed in the social and political spheres of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. He said our endeavor should be to remember the role of the leader and also inform the younger generation about this icon of the State.
Those who paid tributes to Dogra included former Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah, Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta, several Cabinet Ministers including, Minister for Finance, Dr Haseeb A Drabu, Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Gani Kohli, Minister for Irrigation and PHE, Sham Lal Choudhary, Minister of State for Education and Culture, Priya Sethi, Vice Chairman Kissan Board, Daljeet Singh Chib, Vice Chairman, SC, ST OBC Development Corporation, Balbir Ram Rattan, Legislators, Ashok Khajuria, Sat Sharma, Rajesh Gupta, Ramesh Arora, Charnjeet Singh Khalsa, Vikram Randhawa, R. S. Pathania, senior leaders including Yudhvir Sethi, Balwan Singh of Congress and Chander Gulathi prominent businessman.
They paid floral tributes to Girdhari Lal Dogra on the occasion and termed him a great leader of the State who also had taken active part in freedom struggle. They said late Dogra was mashie of poor and down trodden who believed in social equality.
They said late leader served the people of the State till his last breath. Being a Minister he never hesitated in accompanying the people to pursue their case before a clerk in Civil Secretariat because he considered it his prime duty as a humble politician and public representative.
They said late Dogra was a popular leader of the State and a down to earth leader who was above caste and communal considerations. For him all human beings were equal and serving them selflessly was his prime duty.
