Army organizes students’ tour to Kamaan Post

Srinagar, Nov 27: As part of educational tour, an excursion was organised for 55 students of Army Goodwill School Uri and Aseem-Goodwill Computer Centre at Kamalkot to Kamaan Aman Setu in Uri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A defence spokesman said that during the visit, the students were made aware about the commercial and strategic significance of the Kaman Aman Setu. The students also witnessed the trade services between India and Pakistan. They also visited Kaman Transit Point, Cafe Kaman and the Currency Changing Point.
“Officer – In-Charge of Kaman Aman Setu briefed them about the importance of the Kaman Bridge; inter country trade service and bus service between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad. He also briefed them about the procedure of immigration and various facilities available at Kaman Transit Point,” he said.
All visitors displayed keen interest in understanding the significance of the bridge and the excitement amongst the students was evident, the defence spokesman said, adding that the students expressed their gratitude to the Army for providing this opportunity.
