JAMMU, Nov 27: Natrang Director Padamshree Balwant Thakur was honoured this evening on the closing ceremony of prestigious Amravati National Theatre Festival by the Andra Pradesh Government at Tumm-alapalli Kalakshetri Auditorium, Vijayawada.
Organized by Department of Tourism and Culture Government of Andra Pradesh, this festival featured only three most outstanding theatre productions of the times from outside Andra Pradesh which included besides Natrang’s Dogri play ‘Ghumayee’, ‘Charan Dass Chor’ by Habeeb Tanveer and ‘Karan Bharm’ by K.N. Pannikar.
The honours to Balwant Thakur on behalf of Andra Pradesh Government were conferred by most celebrated film actress of South Indian Cinema Mannara Chopra.
Popularly known as the cultural Ambassador of the State of Jammu & Kashmir, Balwant Thakur is one of the most outstanding and creative theatre directors of the country who has over 5,000 cultural events to his credit.
