25 bovine animals rescued

UDHAMPUR, Nov 27: Police today rescued 25 bovine animals, which were being smuggled to Kashmir in a truck while driver of the vehicle managed to escape.
Based on a reliable information, Police parties of PS Chenani, led by SHO Paramjeet Singh, under the supervision of SDPO Charanjeet Singh, laid surprise naka on link road from Chenani to Sudhmahadev. During naka checking, police party intercepted one truck bearing registration number JK02AS 8211. Driver of the truck managed to flee after abandoning the vehicle. During the search of said vehicle, 25 bovine animals were found illegally loaded in it. All 25 bovine animals were rescued and vehicle was seized.
In this connection, a case FIR number 154/2017 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Chenani.
