J&K handloom stall witnesses heavy rush in IITF JAMMU, Nov 17: Directorate of Handloom Development Department J&K government organized a cluster exhibition at Hall No.12 Pragati Maidan at India International Trade Fair-2012, New Delhi from November 14 to 27, 2012. Director Handloom Development Department, D R Sharma informed that the Handloom Department has organized the exhibition to promote the products by the weaver of handloom clusters, sanctioned by Development Commissioner for Handlooms Ministry of Textiles for the State, so that the future marketing of these products is explored and to plan future production as per daily changing taste of customers. Joint Director, Handloom Development Department Kashmir, Mukhtar-ul-Aziz told that woollen ladies suiting cloth, woollen/ladies stools, woollen mufflers, tweed cloth, world famous pashmina kani jamawars, pashmina sozni shawls, cotton lenin are being produced in the 7 handloom clusters which are under implementation through the Handloom Development Department and the exhibition will provide an opportunity to the handloom weavers of the State to promote these world famous products for their future business. The handloom cluster stall is witnessing heavy rush of domestic/foreign visitors who are taking keen interest in the products of the weavers of handloom clusters which is a motivation for the weavers of different clusters who were also present in the exhibition.

JAMMU, Nov 17: National Panthers Party today rejected the use of EVM and demanded polling through single ballet paper both in Valley and Jammu regions.
Addressing a press conference, Prof Bhim Singh, Chief Patron, National Panthers Party (NPP) said that the Government is interested to hold this election by the use of EVMs, which can easily be manipulated.
Prof Singh accused Coalition Government for playing fraud with the innocent people and the Panchayat. He said splitting of a single election in Jammu into to as J-1 and J-2 and Kashmir as K-1 and K-2 has violated the fundamental jurisprudence of free and fair polls.
He said that this neo doctrine to create dual constituency in Panchayats has terribly shaken the faith of the democrats on the sincerity of the Congress and NC.
He informed that all the four candidates who filled their nominations papers for Legislative Council from Panchayat quota have been cleared by the Returning Officer of Srinagar and Jammu.
Prof Singh added that each Panchayat member will have two votes to elect two members each from Kashmir and Jammu Divisions.
Panthers Party candidates are Anita Kumari Thakur (Rajouri), Mohd Rafiq Chandel (sarpanch) from Udhampur, Maqbool Malik (Baramulla) and Dr Mohd Iqbal Wani (Anantnag), he added.
Balwant Singh Mankotia MLA and President NPP has been appointed as incharge of the election campaign for the council elections, Prof Singh added.
