Bhalla inspects progress on upcoming Kargil House

JAMMU, Nov 17: Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla today said that Government is committed to provide all basic facilities to the people of Kargil at Jammu to make their living comfortable like other people of the State.
This was stated by the Minister while interacting with the people of Kargil during inspection of on-going work of Kargil House coming up at a cost of Rs. 1.64 crore at Kargil Colony in Bathandi today.
Keeping in view Muharram, Mr. Bhalla asked the engineers of R&B Department to immediately start the blacktopping work of approach road of the Colony so that the community does not face any inconvenience in holding religious functions during ensuing Muharram. Besides asking JMC to install street lights in the Colony, the Minister directed PHE Department to ensure supply of drinking water thrice daily during Muharram days.
Mr. Bhalla asked the executing agency to complete the construction work of Kargil House within prescribed time frame so that they can arrange their social as well as religious functions on paying nominal charges.
Responding to the local demands, the Minister said Government has released funds for construction of deep drain including up-gradation of link road from Karayani Talab to Rajiv Nagar in Narwal, adding that the projects are under progress on war-footing and would be completed within prescribed time frame.
The Minister appreciated Kargil people for demonstrating great courage during Kargil war in 1999 and lauded their tremendous role in maintaining peace and tranquility during difficult times.
Later, the Minister also distributed certificates and mementos among the meritorious students who brought laurels for college in B.Ed, ETT, BBA and BCA exams.
