JAMMU, Nov 17: Nomination papers of three candidates were today rejected in Jammu division leaving 41 candidates in fray for four seats of Legislative Council from Panchayat members quota.
All 16 nomination papers for two seats of Kashmir division were found intact, official sources said.
Of 28 nomination papers for two seats of Jammu division, three were rejected. They included Parbhakar Singh, a covering candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Tara Chand and Manzoor Hussain, both Independent candidates.
With three rejections, 25 candidates were left in fray in Jammu division.
The candidates can withdraw their nomination papers till November 19. The election will be held on December 3 and counting on December 6.
