SRINAGAR: As many as 12 residential houses were gutted in a massive fire which broke out in densely populated Hawal area in downtown Srinagar on Tuesday.
Official sources said that fire broke out this morning in a residential house at Sheikh colony, Hawal in Srinagar.
Fire tenders from different parts of the city and adjoining districts were rushed to douse off the leaping flames, clearly visible from a distance.
However, the fire spread to nearby residential houses. Before the fire was brought under control, as many as 12 residential houses were damaged in the fire, they said.
The cause of the fire was not immediately known, they said, adding no one was injured in the incident. (AGENCIES)
