Tributes paid to Dr Ambedkar on his 62nd death anniversary

JAMMU, Dec 6: Various political, social and other organizations paid floral tributes to the architect of   Indian Constitution, `Bharat Rattan’ Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar in various functions organized across the State today.
To commemorate the 62nd death anniversary of  Dr Ambedkar, Congress Party held a function  at PCC headquarters, Shahidi Chowk, Jammu. The function was organized by District Congress Committee Jammu (U) under the leadership of  Anil Chopra.
Paying tributes to Dr Ambedkar, former minister  and PCC vice president,  Raman Bhalla remembered the contributions of   Dr Bhim Rao  in framing the  Indian Constitution wherein, the provision for the welfare and the upliftment of  poor,   downtrodden and  each  and every section irrespective of caste, creed colour or religion  was kept and approved by the Constituent Assembly of the country.
He described Dr Ambedkar as one of the towering personalities of modern India who will always be remembered for his outstanding contribution for the upliftment of the downtrodden people in the country.  He said Dr Rao dedicated his life for the upliftment and social integration by protecting their interests in the Constitution.
Senior leaders  Anil Chopra,   Indu Pawar (President Mahila Congress),   Ashok Dogra,  Gharu Ram Bhagat, Gurdarshan Singh, K L Gupta  and others also paid floral tributes to Dr Ambedkar and remembered him for  his outstanding contribution.
DCC Kathua led by Subhash Gupta ( Ex-MLC) also organized a function and paid floral tributes to Dr Ambedkar.
The J&K National Conference also paid glowing tributes to Dr Ambedkar, on his  death anniversary. The party leaders recalled the contributions of  Dr Ambedkar in a function held at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here this morning.
Leading the prominent workers to pay tributes, Co- Chairperson, NC SC Cell, Vijay Lochan and provincial secretary Sheikh Bashir Ahmed said that BR Ambedkar will continue to be source of inspiration for millions of people to serve the humanity and work for social justice.
“Strengthening bonds of amity and ensuring equal opportunities of progress and development to all will be a befitting tribute to the great visionary, who strived all his life to promote harmony in the society”, Vijay Lochan added.
Various other speakers also paid their homage to the Babasaheb and dwelt upon various facets of  his life.
Prominent among them included-Abdul Gani Teli,  Nar Singh, president Labour wing, Dilshad Begum, Simren Dass,  Som Raj Taroch, Madan Lal, Bishan Dass Bhagat, Charanjeet Bhagat, Sarika Singh, Varsha , Karan Singh, Des Raj, Babu Ram and Dr Tara Chand.
State BJP SC Morcha led by its Pradesh chief and MLA, Dr DK Manyal in presence of BJP State secretary Sanjay Baru paid floral tributes on the portrait of great social reformer of India, Bharat Ratna Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his death anniversary at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar.
MLA Dr Krishan Lal Bhagat, Vice-Chairperson SC/ST/OBC  Development Board Balbir Ram Rattan and senior leaders ND Rajwal and Chaman Lal Kanathia were also present during the programme.
DK Manyal while paying floral tributes to the great personality said that, Bharat Ratna Dr Ambedkar popularly known as Baba Saheb was a great economist, politician, jurist and social reformer who fought for the rights of neglected section of society. He also supported the rights of women and children, thus putting up fight against every social evil prevailing in society.
Krishan Lal Bhagat,  Balbir Ram, Rajwal, Dharminder Kumar  and others also spoke on the occasion.
State unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in a function organized at party office Satwari here also paid floral tributes to Dr Bhim Rao Ambdekar. Newly appointed State president of the party, Som Raj Majotra presided over the function.
A large number of party   leaders and other functionaries attended the program and paid glowing tributes to Dr Ambedkar.
Majotra in his address described Dr BR Ambedkar as architect of Indian Constitution and `Massiah’ of the poor and down trodden members of the society.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included, Tulsi Dass Langeh, R L Chargotra, RK Thappa, Ashok Bhagat, HC Thappa, Mohinder Attri, Dr Harjit, Pawan Gupta, RC Bhagat and  Ajaib Singh Motton.
Shri Guru Ravi Dass Sabha SS Trust, Sikanderpur Kothey (Jammu) also organized a function to pay tributes to Bharat Rattan Dr Ambedkar today.   A large number of people attended the function and   paid their rich tributes to the great leader. Chairman of the Trust, C L Banal, general secretary D D Shivgotra and others addressed the gathering and recalled the contributions of Dr Ambedkar.
The Jammu University SC/ST Employees Association in a special meeting organized here today also paid floral tributes to Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations led by RK Kalsotra also paid rich tributes to Dr Ambedkar in a function organized here today. Several other organizations also joined the Federation to pay floral tributes to architect of  Indian Constitution.
A candle light march was also organized in this connection which commenced from Maharishi Valmiki Temple Gandhi Nagar. Speaker Assembly Kavinder Gupta, Minister for Animal & Sheep Husbandry AG Kohli and Bharat Bhushan Dogra, Vice Chairman SC Advisory Board also joined the march.
