Bootlegger held; 10 bovine animals rescued

KATHUA, Dec 10: A bootlegger was arrested in Rajbagh area by police while the Police Post of Industrial Estate Kathua rescued 10 bovine animals at National Highway during a naka laid near Grand Plaza Hotel.
Reacting swiftly on a specific information, a team of Police Station Rajbagh headed by SI Vikas Jasrotia under the supervision of Dy.SP Ravail Chowdhary SDPO, Border Chadwal and Sanjay Parihar Addl. SP Kathua ,police nabbed one person with 20 pouches of JK Excise liquor.
The accused was identified as Joginder Lal S/o Gurdayal R/o Chan Julaha area of tehsil Hiranagar, district Kathua. He was apprehended while selling the liquor unlawfully on the road side at Chan Aroriyan area in the jurisdiction of Police Station Rajbagh. A case FIR No  253/2017 U/S 48 (F) Excise Act was registered against him and further investigation is going on.
Meanwhile the team from Police Post Industrial Estate headed by SI Verinder Singh, incharge Police Post Industrial Estate today laid naka near Grand Plaza Hotel at NHW in the jurisdiction of PP Industrial Estate Kathua in the wee hours and intercepted  a truck bearing registration no JK03B-0887 carrying  bovine animals.
Police team rescued 10 bovine animals but driver managed to escape from the spot. Accordingly case FIR. 368 /2017 under Sections 188 RPC, 3/5 PC Act stands registered at Police station Kathua.
