Ex-Policemen League projects demands

JAMMU, Dec 10: Ex-Policemen League, District Jammu  has urged upon the higher authorities in the State Police Department to address  long pending issues of the retired police personnel.
In a meeting of the League held here today under the chairmanship of K S Sambyal, DySP (Retd), the members stressed upon the Government to revive the resigned order No. Home (P) 428 of 2001 dated 4-10-2001.  They said this  order No 428 has affected the welfare of the retired Policemen. They also appealed the DGP to allot suitable accommodation for the use of League office within Police premises  as the present accommodation is only one room in old Nawabad Police Station which is insufficient.
The League also demanded 10 % reservation for their wards in Police jobs and 5 % quota in professional institutes in and outside J&K state. They also demanded enhancement in Medical allowance from Rs 300 to Rs 1,000 per month and early implementation of 7th Pay Commission report.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included,  Ch Chirag Din, Bachan Singh Choudhary (Retd SSPs), V P Gupta, Som Raj Dutta, Durga Dass Sharma, Hari Chand Bhagat- Retd SPs, Varinder Bhasin, Mohd Saleem, J L Gupta, S S Jamwal, JS Jamwal etc.
