JKP Water Sports team wins 7 medals in All India C’ship

JAMMU, Dec 13: For winning 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals in 17th All India Police Water Sports Championship held at Upper Lake, Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh recently, ADGP Armed J&K, AK Choudhary honoured J&K Police Water Sports team at Armed Police Headquarters, here today.
Among the medal winners, Constable Adil Mohi-ud-Din won 1gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal in C-1 200 mtrs event, C-1 500 mtrs event and C-1 1000 mtrs event respectively.
In K-2 200 mtrs event, Head Constable (HC) Zahoor Ahmad and HC Parveiz Ahmad clinched gold medal, while in K-4 200 mtrs event, HC Zahoor Ahmad, HC Parveiz Ahmad, Ct Asin Hussain and Sajad Ahmad claimed gold medals.
In C-2 500 mtrs event, Ct Adil Mohi-ud-Din and Foll. Altaf Ahmad won bronze medals.
J&K Police Water Sports team secured third position in 17th All India Police Water Sports Championship in which 25 teams of different State Police and Central Para Military Forces including ITBP, BSF, CRP and SSB participated. BSF team emerged overall winner, whereas CRPF team secured 2nd position in the Championship.
While interacting with the players, ADGP advised the winners of silver and bronze medals, besides other participants to work hard and prove their mettle in the next Championship with flying colours.
The ADGP also emphasized for regular practice and constant coaching to the team to make it more proficient in future.
Mohd Yaseen Kichloo, SSP Staff Officer to ADGP Armed and Majid Mehboob, DySP Sports APHQ J&K were also present on the occasion.
