JAMMU, Dec 14: A woman was today crushed to death by a speeding bus in Domana area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, the mishap occurred today at about 8:45 AM on Jammu -Akhnoor Road. He said that the woman identified as Krishna Devi (48) wife of Roshan Lal, resident of Battal (at present Domana) was crossing the road on foot when a speeding bus bearing registration number JK02BK-3858, which was on its way from Akhnoor to Jammu, crushed her, resulting into her on the spot death.
He said that the body of the woman was shifted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where after completing all medico-legal formalities it was handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
“In this connection, a case under relevant sections was registered at police station Domana and investigations started while the accused bus driver identified as Rakesh kumar Sharma son of Teja Ram, resident of Nai Basti, Gajansoo (Jammu), was arrested and his vehicle seized.
