LPEF demands implementation of 7th Pay Commission report

SRINAGAR, Dec 14: All J&K Low Paid Employees Federation (LPEF) Kashmir held a meeting here, today under the leadership of its general secretary, Mohammad Javed Shah in which the problems being faced by the State Government employees, pensioners, daily rated workers and casual laborers were discussed.
The meeting, while highlighting the various problems of the employees demanded that the implementation of Seventh Pay Commission report for Government employees and pensioners in view of the sky rocketing prices of essential commodities with effect from January 2016 and the arrears of the same be given in hand.
The meeting also demanded hike in Medical Allowance to Rs 3000 and removal of difference in HRA, hike in rate of casual workers, the entire period of daily wage and work charge service be counted on retirement for pension and other benefits, re-organization of PDD and redressal of demands of the employees of Irrigation, Education, PHE, Sericulture and other departments.
The meeting which was also addressed by chief organizer of the Federation Mohammed Shaban Bhat, general secretary, Manzoor Ahmed Rather, district president Baramulla Haji Abdul Khaliq Kakroo, district president Anantnag, Abdul Rashid Bhat and others expressed its satisfaction over the regularization of 60,000 daily wagers as announced by the State Government led by Mehbooba Mufti. It termed it a great decision in favour of the hapless workers working on daily wage basis for years together. The meeting, while terming it a pro poor decision said that it was the result of protracted struggle of LPEF launched under the leadership of its president Abdul Majid Khan who took up the issue with Chief Minister, Chief Secretary and other authorities from time to time.
