JAMMU, Dec 15: Nagrota police under ‘Operation Sanjeevani’ arrested a driver and his associate along with cannabis and poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a Jammu bound Winger Taxi bearing registration number JK02AT-8230.
During checking, police recovered 2.2 kilograms of cannabis and 1.25 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the driver and his associate.
The arrested persons have been identified as Karan Kumar alias Gharu, son of Vijay Kumar of Qasim Nagar and Amog Chawala alias Muna, son of Durgesh of Pacca Danga.
A case under FIR Number 267/17 under Section 8/15/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Bhushan Manhas made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Yashvir Singh Slathia, SP Rural Shivdeep Singh Jamwal and SP Component Jammu Viney Sharma.
