Traffic restored on Kashmir highway after disruption due to accident

SRINAGAR:  Traffic was restored on Srinagar-Jammu national highway, connecting Kashmir with the rest of the country, after remaining suspended for few hours due to an accident.

A traffic police official said traffic has been restored at around 1500 hrs after removing three trucks involved in the accident on the highway.

Hundreds of vehicles, including those carrying essentials, which were stranded between Jammu and Peerah Ramban left for the Kashmir valley after the traffic on the highway was restored. “Traffic jam between Samroli and Jakheni was being cleared,” he added.

Vehicular movement on the national highway was disrupted after three trucks collided at Peerah Ramban in Jammu region on Saturday, when vehicles were to ply from Jammu to Srinagar only due to one-way traffic. (AGENCIES)
