RAJOURI, Nov 20: Superintendent of Police (SP), Rajouri, today held a welfare meeting with retired Police personnel in conference Hall of District Police Lines here.
52 retired Police personnel of the District headed by Deputy SP (Retd), Harmesh Sharma, participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, SP Rajouri, Mubassir Latifi, enquired about the health and family condition of all retired Police personnel. J&K Police Welfare Fund revised rules 2012 were also read out during the meeting to make the retired Police personnel aware of various welfare schemes meant for them.
Harmesh Sharma, while speaking, demanded reconstitution of the retired welfare board, which has been rescinded vide Government order No 428 (P) of 2001 dated August 4, 2001. He also demanded enhancement of retired Police welfare fund contribution.
Moreover, all the retirees unanimously demanded that in case of death of retired Police personnel, immediate relief be provided and at the time of marriage of their daughters, welfare relief be provided.
The participants urged the SP that at least one family member of retired Police personnel may be appointed in Police Department.
Other demands put forth by the retired Police personnel were 15% reservation for their wards in Government services and admission in coaching centre Srinagar as well as Jammu, issuance of medical cards to them for free medical treatment, established of small hospital in each district headquarter, retrospective implementation of retirement gift and provision of welfare loan scheme.
SP Rajouri, assured the participants that their demands would be brought into notice of the authorities at appropriate level.
