Srinagar, Dec 21: Hundreds of employees working with National Rural Health Mission and other schemes of Health Services today staged a protest here and demanded regularisation of their services.
A large number of employees from different districts, including doctors, paramedical staff, technicians of the Health Department who were working on contractual basis under National Rural Health Mission and other services reached Pratap Park in Srinagar and shouted slogans against the Government.
The protesting employees complained that they were not included in the recent list of 60,000 daily wagers who are to be regularised.
Vice president Joint Employees Coordination Committee of NRHM said for the last six years, they had repeatedly approached the concerned departments for regularisation but their demands were unheard, “We have been running from pillar to post but our pleas have fallen on deaf ears”, he said.
He, however, threatened to intensify protests if their demands were not accepted.
Pertinently, NRHM employees started a 72-hour protest from December 20, against the Government and that has affected the delivery of health services across the Valley.
