Fake certificates racket busted

Srinagar Dec 22: Police in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district busted a fake certificates racket and arrested the main accused.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara, Shamsher Hussain said that based on specific information regarding issuing fake qualification certificates, State subject certificates and other important documents, a raid was conducted at Shah Photostate located at main market Kupwara and many fake certificates along with computers/hard disks and other accessories were recovered.
He said the accused computer operator Mohammad Afzal Bhat son of Mohammad Mukhtar Bhat of Waterkhani Drugmulla was arrested. A case FIR No 324/2017 U/S 420, 468, 471 RPC 74 IT Act was registered and investigations have been started and more arrests are expected.
The SSP said that continuing with the special drive against drug peddlers, special team of Kupwara Police arrested two notorious drug peddlers from Kupwara town and Kralpora areas. They have been identified as Sardar Khan, son of Abdul Ahad Khan of Gundisana Hyhama and Dilawar Malik son of Abdul Hamid Malik of Doban Kachihama and 1.5 kgs charas was recovered from their possession.
He said that cases under NDPS Act have been registered and investigation is in progress. He said more arrests/recoveries are expected.
