RAJOURI, Dec 22: Canara Bank today distributed Rs 22500 as scholarship to SC/ST girl students of Government Girls High School, Jawahar Nagar, Rajouri through its Branch Office, Rajouri.
The scholarship was provided to meritorious SC/ST girls under Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility to encourage education among girl students belonging to SC/ST communities by extending financial support.
The programme was presided over by Des Raj, DDM, NABARD Rajouri and DM, Vinod Kumar from Canara Bank, regional office, Jammu.
While speaking on the occasion, Des Raj deliberated on the importance of providing education to girl child while Vinod Kumar highlighted the role of the bank in various social activities especially for the girl students.
Aditya Sharma, Manager, Rajouri branch and Vikramjeet, officer from regional office, Jammu were also present on the occasion.
