JAMMU, Dec 22: The workers of Dogra Front and Shiv Sena (DFSS) under the leadership of their president, Ashok Gupta, held a protest here today against the affidavit filed by the J&K Government for not providing the status of Minority to Hindus in the State.
Addressing the protesters, Ashok Gupta said that responding to a petition in the top court that asked for Hindus to be declared a minority community in Jammu and Kashmir and seven other states, PDP-BJP Coalition Government filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court last week, stating that “Jammu and Kashmir does not acknowledge Hindus as a ‘minority’ in the State as it goes by the Centre’s national list of minorities”.
Gupta stated that BJP was voted in power in Jammu to improve the lives of people of Jammu and providing ‘Minority’ status was one of the main agendas of the Government. “The affidavit filed by the Government in the Supreme Court shows nothing less than arrogance of the Government as on the ground reality, the state of Hindus is very bad”, he added.
