EDP in Food Processing inaugurated in GCW

JAMMU, Nov 20: A six-week Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) in Food Processing organised by MSME Government of India, was inaugurated here at Government College for Women (GCW), Parade, by Director, MSME Development Institute, Jammu.
The principal of the College, Dr Hema Aggarwal, Prof Ashwani Khajuria, Food Technologist, Prof Nidhi Kotwal, Programme Coordin-ator, were present on the occasion.
Dr Hema Aggarwal apprised the students about the objectives of Entrepreneurship Develo-pment Programme and stressed for organising more such programmes.
Briefing about the course content of the Programme, Varinder Sharma, said that the course content of the programme is designed to provide useful information on product or process design, manufacturing practices involved, testing and quality control, selection and usage of appropriate machinery and equipments, project file preparation, marketing avenues or techniques and product or service pricing.
The inaugural session was followed by technical sessions in which Prof Ashwani Khajuria delivered lecture on importance of Food Preservation and Quality Control.
