JAMMU, Dec 23: Suman Gupta, one of senior artists of our State has been invited by Gallery Navya to showcase his works in a four-month long major group show titled “Unconceptual” which recently opened at their new space at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.
The show is a combination of most senior, established and upcoming artists from different part of the country working in their respective medium and style.
Suman Gupta in the recent time has been consistently experimenting with his favorite medium egg tempera and has produced some of the finest works on gessoes on wood panel, paper as well as on canvas.
His masterful paintings of the familiar places of his world and of the people and friends comprising it reveal an unusual sensitivity to his subject. All the central characters and other elements in his magic realistic paintings are clearly based on his own people and the land.
