JAMMU, Dec 23: Over a dozen unemployed youth belonging to physically disabled, backward classes and minority communities met Vice Chairperson of J&K Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes & Backward Classes Development Corporation Limited, Balbir Ram Rattan, at Jammu head office seeking loan under Direct Financing Scheme.
These applicants had already submitted their applications for getting loan from the Corporation to set up own earning units in Akhnoor and Jammu. Balbir Ram Rattan, while interacting with them, said that the J&K SCs, STs, & BCs Development Corporation Limited has been established with the prime objective of socio-economic upliftment of the weaker sections, including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, National Level Notified Minorities, Physically Challenged Persons.
He told them that for each of the mentioned category, there is an independent Apex Corporation at the national level, which provides funds to the unemployed males and females for setting up of their small units as per their skill and capability and start earning livelihood. “Our Corporation is channelizing agency and act as a bridge between the Apex Corporation and the loan aspirants’, he added.
Balbir further told them that every one cannot get Government job and they should not waste time but opt for alternate mean of earning. “Any one, male or female, who is sitting idle, is, in fact, not doing well to himself or herself”, he told them.
The VC assured that their loan applications will be processed at the earliest and they will be provided financial assistance.
