SRINAGAR: Traffic on Srinagar-Jammu national highway was disrupted for several hours after a truck, loaded with fruit, overturned on Wednesday, official sources said.
They said the truck loaded with fruit from Shopian to Bangalore overturned near Banihal on the highway.
Hundreds of Jammu-bound vehicles were stranded since Wednesday and traffic was to ply from Srinagar to the winter capital only because of one-way.
The truck driver, identified as Lakhvir Singh and a resident of Moga in Punjab, and conductor Lukcy Sharma, a resident of Barnala, Punjab received minor injuries in the accident.
Traffic police official said that a recovery crane was put into the service and the truck was removed from the middle of the road. Traffic has now been restored. (Agencies)
