NOWSHERA, Nov 21: Free eye operation-cum-treatment camp organised and sponsored by Viklang Chhatra Trust Akhnoor (VCT) in collaboration with Health Department and Blindness Control Society, concluded here today.
During the camp, 51 cataract patients were operated upon with Intra-Ocular Lens (IOL) and six patients were referred to Jammu for surgery. Dr Rajeev Sharma, MS, Dr Arti Sharma, MS, senior eye surgeons of Health Department rendered their services in the camp. They were assisted by Ophth assistants, Ajay Anand and Ram Krishan Sharma.
SDM Nowshera distributed medicines and spectacles to the operated patients.
The camp was inaugurated by BMO Nowshera, Dr Raghubir Singh on November 19. On the concluding day, today, free pre and post operation medicines, spectacles and eye drops for 40 days were provided to all the operated patients. Besides free langer for patients as well as attendants was also arranged during the camp days.
