SRINAGAR, Dec 27: Under the chairmanship of Director General of Police (DGP), Prisons Department, S K Mishra, a review board meeting for premature release of convicted prisoners was today held at Central Jail Srinagar.
Principal District and Sessions Judge Srinagar, District Magistrate Srinagar, Secretary Social Welfare Board, Assistant Professor University of Kashmir, District Litigation Officer Social Welfare, SP Central Jail Srinagar, and Humanity Welfare Organization Helpline representative were present in the meeting.
The Board members interacted with the convicted prisoners whose cases were reviewed and, after considering the merits of each case, decided to consider and recommend premature release of eligible convicted prisoners to the Government for appropriate orders.
