JAMMU, Dec 27: High Court today condoled the demise of   the former Chief Justice of J&K High Court and former Chief Justice of India, Justice A S Anand.
Chief Justice J&K High Court, Justice Badar Durrez Ahmed, Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir, Justice Alok Aradhe, Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur, Justice Tashi Rabstan, Justice Sanjeev Kumar and judicial officers and senior advocates were present at the condolence meeting convened to remember services of the late legal luminary.
Chief Justice said Justice Anand will be always remembered for his services rendered in the judicial field. “Dr Anand in his long career as a Judge has delivered several landmark judgements and displayed deep concern towards human rights and constitutional values,” he added.
He said Justice Anand contributed many articles in the field of law and authored several books including the “The Constitution of J&K its Development and Comments”, which is an essential read for anyone venturing to practice in the field of law.
While expressing sympathies with the bereaved family, the participants observed two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul and prayed for his eternal peace.
