KATHUA, Dec 28: Provin-cial Electrical Employees Union (PEEU) Jammu urged the Chief Minister and Finance Minister to make amendments in the SRO-520.
Addressing a press conference, PC Sharma, Provincial president said that SRO 520 needs some amendments including provision of wages of need base, casual and seasonal labourers who have been included and uploaded through biometric identification in 60,000 workers list but not being paid against any wages head in routine, allotment of proper scale while their conversion in regular cadre, need based workers who are in the list but not paid even single time be paid like other workers by making their budgetary provision against wages head, promotion avenues be created for such workers who are having good and technical qualifications like ITI, three years diploma in engineering or degree in engineering, allowances being given to NPS employees be incorporated in the policy and benefit of SRO-43 also be included in the policy.
“The policy issued in shape of SRO-520 is quite strange which shows sugar coated treatment with the working class”, he said, adding that workers were in hope that they will be regularized at par with SRO 64 of 1994 retrospectively but issued policy is totally adverse.
He appealed to the CM to reconsider the policy and release the pending wages of need based and other workers immediately.
