JAMMU, Apr 29: Sannat’s 5-wicket haul helped Young Guns XI to thrash Stadium XI by 8 wickets in a one-sided contest of the ongoing Simula Budding Cricketers T20 Tournament, being organized by Simula Sports Club in collaboration with Young Star Cricket Club at MA Stadium, here.
Batting first Stadium XI was bundled out for a paltry total of 52 runs in 15.2 overs, courtesy a fine spell of 4 overs bowled by young Sannat, who scalped 5 wickets by conceding just 12 runs in his quota. Shivam also took 3 important wickets, while Pavit Singh and Rattandeep Singh claimed one wicket each.
Young Guns, in reply chased the required runs in just 9.2 overs by losing 2 wickets and won the match easily by 8 wickets. Rattandeep Sharma was the top scorer with 29 runs including 4 boundaries, while Yudhamanyu and Maval contributed 7 runs each. Vivrant was the only successful bowler from Stadium XI, while another wicket was dismissed by a direct throw from a fielder. Sannat was declared man of the match for his fabulous bowling display. The match was officiated by Rajinder Singh, Vijay and Sohail, while Shashi Pal is the organizing secretary of the tournament.
