UDHAMPUR, Jan 2: District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar took a firsthand account of ongoing expansion works of National Highway from Udhampur to Chenani starting from Gole Mela Bridge Phangyal to Chenani tunnel today.
During the tour, DDC took stock of connectivity of NHAI with Dhar road at Gole Mela Chowk, light vehicle crossing bridge at Jakhani, shifting of utilities by PHE, shifting of CRPF camp to alternate identified location, damages caused to the houses and properties due to construction and excavation of NH-44 along Udhampur-Chenani section, smooth plying of traffic on Udhampur-Chenani road.
The DDC directed the Project Director, N.H. to adopt appropriate measures to decongest the traffic along Gole Mela Chowk to National Highway.
DDC also directed CEO MC to identify a suitable location for dumping garbage so that all the bottlenecks are removed for time bound expansion of NH.
While interacting with people, the DDC directed the concerned to resolve issues of paucity of drinking water supply and construction of retaining wall along the N.H. for the safety of public assets on priority.
Among others, SSP, Rayees Bhat, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Krishan Lal, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Subash Dogra, Project Director NHAI, Ajay Kumar, CEO, MC Santosh Kotwal, Xen PHE, Ashok Kumar and other district officers accompanied DDC on the tour.
