JAMMU, Jan 3: Terming the major policy shift of the US administration against Pakistan a qualitative reflection of the Indian diplomatic advances regarding that country, Panun Kashmir (PK) today said that the tweet statement of the US President, Donald Trump needs to be read along with the new policy declaration of the US and the preceding statement of the US Vice President, Mike Pence.
Addressing the meeting of Political Affairs Committee (PAC) of PK held here, under the leadership of its chairman , Prof M L Raina, PK president Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo while lauding the US decision on behalf his organisation said it requires follow up on an intense speed and strategy. There can be no two opinions about what the US President and the Vice President said about Pakistan. The State of Pakistan has not only been befooling US but also the whole world and has been exploiting and blackmailing its so-called nuclear status, Chrungoo added.
He said stopping of US aid to Pakistan is a major policy decision that should encourage the world opinion to rethink about Pakistan’s outspoken support to terror. It has not only allowed misuse of its land and the land under its illegal occupation for building and training terror gangs and infrastructure but has also used the US financial aid for dubious purposes right from 1965. Chrungoo said the Government of India is expected to come forward with a well structured response on the issue and take urgent measures to consolidate gains on strategic, diplomatic and security fronts with a view to isolate Pakistan.
Prof. M L Raina, Chairman, P A C, while speaking in the meeting made it clear that the Kashmiri Pandits since are the first victims of terrorism in Kashmir, feel encouraged with the statements emanating from US. Kashmir Pandits, as the indigenous people of Kashmir, who are first and primary stakeholders to the land of Kashmir cannot afford to ignore the waves of change taking place having ramifications of a larger nature, he added.
Virender Raina, national spokesperson-PK said that the US decision is a carte bal ache to all those nations who have been deeply affected by the export of terror from Pakistan to start initiating anti terror actions at their own level. In this, the States of India, Afghanistan and Iran will have to take the leads who are the most affected nations as a result of terror emanating from Pakistan. Time has come to set things right for all the times to come, he added.
