JAMMU, Jan 3: In yet another act of step motherly treatment to unemployed youth of Jammu region, Government has again discriminated while appointing Junior Assistants in the J&K Secretariat (Subordinate) Service as Kashmir region was given major share scuttling the system of equity and justice.
This was stated by Dr Vikas Sharma, chief, National Secular Forum (NSF), while pointing out that out of total 48 posts of Junior Assistants, candidates from Kashmir region have got share of 36 posts whereas Jammu and Ladakh regions have got 11 and 1 post respectively.
Unfolding details, Dr stated that youth of Budgam district got 30 posts, Kulgam 3, Srinagar 2 and Pulwama 1 whereas Jammu was provided 3, Samba 2, Doda 1, Kishtwar 1, Poonch 1, Rajouri 3 and Ladakh got only one. “These appointments have been made in the Civil Secretariat, thus revealing the intention of the Government to give maximum representation to youth of Kashmir and avoiding the persons of Jammu and Ladakh, which is a matter of serious concern,” he added.
Dr Vikas criticized the BJP leaders and ministers, who are maintaining studied silence towards silly act of discrimination with Jammu people on all the fronts, including employment. “The people of Jammu never anticipated that the net result of supporting BJP shall ultimately be fraught with unending discrimination with Jammu which has constantly been subjected to by earlier Governments since independence,” he said.
Dr. Vikas said that there is no dearth of competent and capable youth in Jammu region who are equally rather well qualified for different Government jobs, but the discriminatory attitude of the present regime under the BJP having alliance with PDP has crossed all the limits, He urged the people of Jammu to join hands together for fighting out the BJP and teaching it an appropriate lesson at the right time.
