KATRA, Jan 3: Four week long DST-NIMAT sponsored ‘Entrepreneurship Development Programme’, conducted by Entrepreneurship Development Cell, successfully concluded at SMVDU. The programme provided a blended training with a platform for different essential aspects including modules of behavioural inputs, entrepreneurial competencies, managerial implications, business plan formulation followed by solar energy techniques fundamentals and applications. In these modules hands-on-training sessions, role plays, case study discussions, business simulation, lecture sessions, interactive sessions, laboratory experiments and group discussions were conducted to enrich all-round development and inculcations of required skills amongst the participants.
The participants of the event were from the different stream including Mechanical Engine-ering, Renewable Energy, Business Administration, Econ-omics, etc. The entrepreneurship development programme is one of the flagship programmes of Department of Science and Technology, GoI under National Implementing and Monitoring Agency for Training Project.
During the event, the students also relished exposure to three industrial units of the region for more practical experience. The resource persons were from different University/ Institute/Industry, including IIT Roorkee, JKEDI, Dabur India Ltd., Tawi Arc Electrodes Pvt Ltd, Shri Mahadev Beverages & Foods, Manav Rachna Interna-tional University, University of Jammu, Haryana Vishwakarma Skill University, Maini Industries, Parity Box/SCME-Ezcom, Jammu, Elysium Net Solution, etc.
Prof Sanjeev Jain, Vice-Chancellor, SMVDU appreciated the contents delivered during this wide-ranging programme. During the valedictory function, the programme coordinator and chief coordinator, EDC-SMVDU, Dr Suparn Kr Sharma addressed the participants and expected to have long lasting learning to frame a fruitful career ahead. Dr Sharma conveyed that this self-generated new knowledge can enhance entrepreneurial opportunities potential and innovation practices in this part of the world. The event enlightened the participants over various issues relating to enterprises establishment, new ventures including behavioural aspects of entrepreneurs, methodology of launching of enterprises, intricacies of management of financial, marketing, human resources, production, etc of enterprises, technology & rationale of usage of solar energy, and its varied applications.
