Cross border narco traffickers racket busted, 5 arrested with Pak smuggled heroin

JAMMU, Jan 5: A racket of cross border narcotic traffickers has been unearthed in the Sub Division Akhnoor with the arrested of five persons and recovery of 7 kilograms of Pakistan smuggled heroin. Apart from this, Gandhi Nagar police also apprehended 4 drug peddlers.
This was stated by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu Zone Dr SD Singh while interacting with media persons here today.
He informed that, a police team arrested five cross border narcotics traffickers and recovered 7 kilograms of Pak smuggled heroin from their possession.
The arrested persons have been identified as Mohammad Rafiq alias Rafiq, son of Mohammad Hanif of Badori Raya, Som Nath alias Soma, son of Bhagat Ram of Fatehpur Brahamna, RS Pura, Jabar Singh alias Sunny, son of Hem Singh of Ward Number 4 Khour, Jankar Singh alias Gosha, son of Jagtar Singh of Phariwala Khour and Raju Singh alias Raju, son of Thoru Ram of Dhar Khour.
A case under FIR Number 5/18 under Section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Akhnoor and further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SDPO Akhnoor Munish Anand and assisted by DySP Operations Davinder Singh, SHO Khour Jeet Singh and Incharge Police Post Pallanwala made the arrest under the supervision of SP Rural Shivdeep Singh Jamwal.

IGP further stated that teams from Gandhi Nagar Police Station laid nakas near Bikram Chowk and Shastri Nagar. During checking, police teams arrested four drug peddlers and recovered 102 grams of heroin worth Rs 10 lakh from their possession.
The arrested persons have been identified as dismissed Selection Grade Constable (SgCt) Jaffer Iqbal, son of Hakim Din, a resident of Channi Rama, Balbir Singh alias Sanchu, son of Darshan Singh, a resident of Trikuta Nagar, Taqdeer Singh, son of late Paramjeet Singh of Nanak Nagar and Tariq Hussain alias Rishi, son of late Nek Mohammad of Trikuta Nagar. Two vehicles have also been seized by the police.
Cases under FIR Numbers 2/18 and 3/18 under Sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act have been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia and assisted by Incharge Nehru Market Police Post Jaipaul Singh, SI Sandeep Chauhan and SI Pawan Dogra arrested the drug peddlers and recovered the heroin under the supervision of SDPO City South Mohammad Rafiq Manhas, SP City South Sandeep Choudhary and SSP Jammu Vivek Gupta.
IGP added that Bahu Fort police worked out seven theft cases with the recovery of iron rods amounting to Rs 6,52,000, cable wires amounting Rs 3,50,000 and 52 mobile phones valuing Rs 7,06,913 and two stolen motor cycles valuing Rs 80,000.
The theft cases have been worked out by SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Parvez Sajjad under the supervision of SDPO East Arun Jamwal and SP South Sandeep Choudhary.
