POONCH, Jan 6: Terming development of rural areas as base of development of society, Member Legislative Assembly Mendhar, Javed Rana today said that division on the basis of cast and language in society is aimed to derail the process of development.
Addressing series of public meetings in Mendhar Assembly segment today, NC MLA said that he was taking all possible efforts to develop rural belt and a number of development projects have been taken up by him in his constituency.
Calling for strengthening communal harmony in society and filling the gap in society created by some elements on the basis of language and castes, Rana said that division on the name of castes and division of Paharis and Gujjars is attempt to derail the process of development in society.
Rana also called for the need to start sustainable dialogue for peaceful atmosphere in the border areas and asked Government of India to resume dialogue process with Pakistan to ensure peace restored on Line of Control.
The MLA also reiterated his commitment of overall development of society with ensuring provision of power and water facilities among the masses.
During his visit to about half a dozen Panchayats the MLA also kick started a number of developmental works including road from Khallabhat to main road Kallar, path from main road to Dana Kallar, Eid Gah at Kallar and tourist hut at Kallar.
Rana also handed over one hundred desks among students and also directed for immediate completion of playground in the local school.
