JAMMU, Jan 7: A man was killed today in a road mishap in Domana area of city outskirts.
According to a police official, today at about 3 PM, one of the tyres of a mini-tipper bearing registration number JK02MB-8104 which was on its way from Jammu to Akhnoor, got separated from the vehicle and hit a man standing beside the road at Nagbani.
He said in the mishap, the man identified as Balwan Singh (55) son of Rattan Singh, resident of Nagbani, received serious head and facial injuries. He was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, where he succumbed to his injuries after few minutes.
In this connection a case under relevant section was registered at police station Domana and investigations started. The driver of mini-tipper identified as Thoru Singh son of Sindoor Singh, resident of Amb Gharota, was also arrested.
