Charak appeals youth to stay away from drugs, vigilant against divisive forces

JAMMU, Jan 8: Thakur Gulchain Singh Charak, former Minister and President Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) appealed the youth of Jammu region to remain vigilant against divisive forces and be away from wide spread menace of drugs.
Charak was addressing a meeting organized by Dogra Sadar Sabha at Rajinder Singh Pura held under the Chairmanship of retired Capt. Parkash Singh.
Charak was the chief guest, while Col. Karan Singh Jamwal, Vice President DSS, and Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Incharge Youth Wing were the guests of honour.
The meeting was organized by Rimpu Jamwal and other youth leaders of the locality.
Charak urged upon the youth to remain vigilant from the forces which are hell-bent upon destroying the unity and integrity and centuries old brotherhood among the people of the region.
He appealed the State Govt to keep a strict vigil at the Indo-Pak border which is the main source of its supply.
He further urged the Govt. to end discrimination in recruitment, distribution of funds and early completion of all the Centrally sponsored schemes which are pending since long.
Charak also informed the audience that soon the DSS is going to organize a women conference “Dhiyan Dogren Dian-Ek Malati” at DSS Bhawan Jammu, to honour the Dogra women achievers who have excelled in various fields at national and international level.
He also asked the distinguished women achievers to forward their names with brief profile to Sabha’s office at Dogra Hall.
Col Jamwal in his address condemned the attempts made by certain agencies to destroy the original historical record and said that these agencies are bent upon undermining the  nationalist Dogra heroes’ by ignoring their contribution in nation building.
He revealed that very soon DSS is going to set up a gallery of renowned Dogra heroes in the DSS Bhawan to give them a place of honour and respect.
He also condemned the State Govt’s unwillingness to declare holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, the great nationalist hero.
Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, In-charge Youth Wing of the Sabha urged upon the youth to initiate a mass content programme to bring more and more youth on the platform of DSS and asked them to remain united and vigilant against the forces which are out to destroy peace and tranquility of the State.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Ashok Kumar, Daljit Singh, Pankaj, Sadhu Ram, Shiv Kumar Sharma and Sidhant Salathia.
