JAMMU, Jan 9: A large number of SC, ST and OBC’S gathered at Valmiki Temple, Gandhi Nagar here and marched up to Ambedkar Chowk in the shape of a protest rally to expose the forces who attacked the celebration of Shaurya Diwas/bicentenary of Bhima Koregaon war at Koregaon, recently.
The protesters showed solidarity with the movement launched in the whole country to acknowledge the bravery of Dalits who fought Bhima Koregaon War 200 years ago for their victory and liberty against discrimination.
The protest march was led by RK Kalsotra, State President, All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organisations which was supported by Adhi Dharan Samaj, Savitri Bai Phule Mahila Sangthan, Gujjar Bakarwal Conference, Dalit Janrakshak Sangathan, Yuva Sangthan Ravi Dass Satsang Society, Batwal Birgade, Barwala Youth Association, Saryara Sabha, Mahasha Sabha, Megh Sudhar Sabha, OBC Mahasabha, Ravi Dass Sabha, Gujjar Federation, Sadguru Kabir Sabha, Barwala Sabha, Akhil Bhartiya Kashyap Mahasangh, Gardi Sabha, Dwarpal Barwala Samaj Sangthan, Pardesh Vishwakarma Sabha and Anjuman-Ahal-Islam.
The rally was addressed by various speakers including R K Kalsotra, Bansi Lal Choudhry, Garu Shadura, Narinder Bhagar, Faquir Azad, Susheel Kumar and Shashi Syal.
While speaking Kalsotra said, “We follow Baba Seheb’s ideology and firmly believe in liberty, equality, justice and fraternity and don’t believe in any caste system. We follow Constitution of India and not Manusmriti. But some forces are trying to implement it in place of Indian Constitution which we will not allow them. We will educate Bahujan Samaj and hold rallies in future also”.
