5 drug-peddlers held; charas, capsules seized

SAMBA, Nov 23: The police arrested five drug-peddlers and recovered 630 gms of charas and a large quantity of intoxicant capsules from their possession today.
A police spokesman said that police naka party led by SHO Vijaypur, Tilak Raj Bhardwaj, under the supervision of ASP, Samba  Koushal Sharma  intercepted Innova vehicle, JK02AP/ 4822 near Vijaypur and during search of the vehicle, recovered 630 gms of Charas from their possession. Both the accused were arrested and the consignment was seized.
The drug peddlers arrested were identified as Sunny Anand, son of Romesh Chand Anand of Jain Bazar, Jammu and Vijay Kumar, son of Natha Ram, resident of Suchani  village in Samba. The police registered a case against them.
Meanwhile, a Ghagwal Police party led by SHO Rakesh Akram acting on a tip off laid a naka at Tapyal on National Highway and arrested three persons traveling in a vehicle towards Jammu. During search police party recovered 445 intoxicant capsules, five pouches of Bukki, weighing  50 gm each  and four bottles of corex. The police arrested all the three and seized consignment. A case has been registered against them.
The arrested accused were identified as James, son of Sant Massih, resident of Gurdaspur, Deepak Kumar, son of Darshan Lal of Balmiki Colony, Jammu and Balkar Singh, son of Kamaljeet, resident of Sangroor in Punjab.
