ASKPC’s concern over fresh bids of land grabbing in Valley

JAMMU, Nov 23: Executive Committee of All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) in a meeting here today held under the chairmanship of its president, H L Chatta has expressed grave concern over the fresh reports of land grabbing by mafia gangs in Kashmir valley.
The meeting said that fresh reports of land grabbing of Hindu religious places by the mafia groups in connivance with Revenue authorities have been received from Kashmir valley. At various places the Government Departments are also involved in encroachment of shrines land, he added.
In this regard he made a special reference to the encroachment of the land belonging to Tirath Raj Kapal Mochan Shrine in Shopian where the Education Department (Rehbar-e-Taleem) has encroached the land belonging to shrine and despite the wide protest by the Hindu Biradri of the area no steps were taken to restore the land to the shrine.
The meeting also alleged that the Revenue records have been mutated to grab the Hindu land in Valley. He also warned some agents from the community involved in this process and helping the land mafia to grab the land belonging to Hindu shrines as well as displaced people. Such people will be dealt strongly as ASKPC has identified those touts he added.
He said in Vaskura, Ganderbal district the land of one migrant family has been forcibly grabbed by a mafia group after mutating the records and demanded that this process should be stopped immediately.
