JAMMU, Jan 11: Pahari community today criticized the Government for reservation of the Panchayats/Wards for Schedule Tribe (ST) community for upcoming Panchayat elections.
Addressing a press conference here today under the banner of All J&K Pahari Tribe Joint Forum, Advocate Gurdev Singh Thakur, said that the Government is going to hold Panchayat elections in the State in February-March and purposed reservation for ST community is totally unconstitutional and injustice with Pahari community.
Thakur appealed the Government to review the whole process from demarcation of Panchayats and Wards, voter lists, reservation and then issue a separate notification for holding of the Panchayat elections.
