JAMMU, Jan 15: PDP vice president, Sartaj Madni today called the youth as the foundation stone of his party while addressing a youth programme at Party Office here at Gandhi Nagar.
In order to further streamline the party Youth Wing at grass root level and energise with vibrant and enthusiastic youth leaders, PDP recently nominated Yawar Dilawar Mir and Varinder Singh Sonu as vice presidents for party’s Youth Wing.
Madni said that party is committed to empower the youth and provide them a better space to lead the nation with innovative and energetic ideas. He hoped that Varinder Sonu will encourage youth to repose faith on democratic institutions and will also help in strengthening these institutions.
He also said that this will prove beneficial by enhancement of party’s core pro people agenda and vision envisaged by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to grass root level in addition to strengthening the party youth cadre in the State.
Reiterating resolve of his party to fulfill Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s visionary agenda of peace and reconciliation in the State, Madni reiterated commitment of his party to carry out a relentless struggle to achieve the party’s target of establishing lasting peace in the State and to create a space for everyone to contribute and thrive in the democratic process with dignity. He reiterated Party’s resolves to carry forwards late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s policy of peace and reconciliation.
“Peace is imperative for growth and development of the State so our first priority should be to establish lasting and sustainable peace by taking on board all the stake holders”, he said and added that youth and women always occupied prime place in PDP’s agenda as stake-holders in social upliftment and political and economic empowered.
Among others senior party leader and former MP TS Bajwa, Ved Mahajan general secretary, district president Rajinder Manhas, Youth president Waheed ur Rehman Para, Deepak Handa Adv Nadeem Khan, Adv Majid Shah, Dr Amtizaj, Parvez Hussain Wafa, Khalid Hussain, and many other senior youth leaders were also present on the occasion.
