JAMMU, Jan 15: Anganwadi workers and helpers of the ICDS projects of State Social Welfare Department held protest demonstration in support of their demands, here today.
Amid slogans in favour of their demands, the female Anganwadi workers and helpers from various ICDS projects in Jammu district under the banner of J&K National Trade Union Front assembled in front of Divisional Commissioner office here and started protest demonstration.
While addressing the gathering, Mohammad Gafoor Dar, State President, J&K National Trade Union condemned the anti workers policies of the Government and the higher authorities of ICDS.
The protesters were demanding enhancement of honorarium, fixation of final seniority lists, holding of immediate DPC meeting to clear all the pending promotions of the supervisors and implementation of new pension scheme to workers and helpers.
They also demanded provision of gratuity at the time of retirement at the age of 65 years, implementation of free group insurance schemes and harassment of workers and helpers should be stopped.
Among others present were Mahajaveen, Swarna, Rattna, Vijay Kumar, Lalita, Irshad, Shamim Akhter, Rubeena Akhter, Anuradha, Suman Lal, Raj Kumari and Swatantar Kumari.
