JAMMU, Jan 15: A delegation led by Rahul Sahai, Chairman, CII J&K State Council called on Imran Raza Ansari, Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education and Youth Services & Sports.
Sahai apprised Ansari about CII’s activities and initiatives taken in sport and technical education field. He mentioned that CII over the decades has been committed to build competitiveness through cooperation and innovations, creating collaborations across the cross sections of the industry and society, and provide a platform to inspire the entire industry to sustain the economic, environmental and societal growth.
Rahul Sahai briefed how CII has been working closely to connect the youth with the corporate world. “Further to this, with an objective to create a platform for young skilled students to start their own ventures as their careers, CII J&K State Council jointly organized many half day sessions in association with Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) for young skilled students of ITI Udhampur, Reasi, Samba, Kathua and R S Pura, in past”, he told Ansari.
He also discussed with the Minister that in EOI floated by State Skills Mission, there is a provision of training partners who can apply for only one center in the State, whereas training partner were added in Ministry of Skills Development to impart training throughout India in any number of districts. “In Ministry of Skills Development guidelines, J&K and Northeast were given special status in center square feet areas and star ratings by the way of which targets are allotted but J&K State remains deprived in most of the cases”, he regretted.
The Minister gave a patient hearing and assured full support and corporation to CII.
Arun Gupta, Gaurav Khajuria, Vivek Bhardwaj and Khurshid Dar were also part of the delegation.
