JAMMU, Jan 15: Jammu Kashmir Government Pharm-acist Association (JKGPA) today held a State-wide protest under the presidentship of Sushil Sudan, president, Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF), in support of their long pending genuine demands.
Addressing the protesting workers here in the premises of Director Health Services, Jammu, Sushil Sudan said Government has gone in deep slumber and not paying heed to the genuine demands of the pharmacists. “This negligent attitude of the Government has forced us once again to take the path of agitation”, he added.
He reiterated the demands of the pharmacists which include enhancement of entry level grade pay of pharmacists from 2400 to 4200 as per the Central Government, running grade for pharmacist i.e. after rendering 5, 10 and 15 years of services as the practice is already in department, upgradation/creation of post of Pharmacist as Block and District Pharmacy Officer, implementation of Pharmacy Act in the State and conduct DPC of all categories.
“Many times these demands were submitted in black and white to higher authorities for considering it but they paid deaf ear. Now Jammu Kashmir Government Pharmacist Association has compelled to organize a mass dharna to raise their voice democratically in the premise of DHS Jammu and simultaneously in DHS Kashmir”, he said.
Sudan urged the Government to consider the demands of pharmacists at the earliest otherwise they will be left with no option to launch massed struggle to achieve our demands.
