Congress trying to dafame institutions whenever in troble: Naidu

HYDERABAD, Nov 24:
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader  and MP M Venkataiah Naidu today said whenever it is in trouble, the Congress party tries to ‘attack, undermine, denigrate, devalue, destabilize and defame’ institutions which is the old habit of the Congress party.
They did the same during the emergency period when they had  acted against the judges of the Supreme Court, the highest judicial body in the country, Mr Naidu said in a press conferenc here today.
When they could not digest the report on Bofors Gun Deal,  the Congress had devalued CAG by attributing motives.  However, in the matter of Chief Vigilance Officers (CVC) appointment, Mr Naidu said they bungled and unilaterally appointed someone who was under inquiry (the Supreme Court, however, has struck down the appointment).
They tried to weaken the authority of Chief Election Commissioner by making the Election Commission a multi-member body and to add their own yes-men, he alleged. Now they want to make CAG a multi-member body only to weaken it, he charged.
They have made Prasara Bharati partisan and converted Doordarshan into a Congress-Darshan, he also alleged that the Congress was ‘notorious for misusing CBI for political  ends and the institution of Governors to unsettle or defame all opposition governments.
The manner in which the Centre made the appointment of Director, CBI ahead of tabling in Rajya Sabha of the recommendations of the Select Committee indicates that it wanted to pre-empt the Committee, he also charged. (UNI)
