Cong should come out of alliance on Kamal’s statement: BJP

Excelsior Correspondent JAMMU, Nov 24: Former BJP state chief and MLA Jammu East today accused Congress of playing second fiddle to Kashmir centric parties thereby becoming a party to their communal and fundamental approach. Talking to reporters here Mr Khajuria said that Congress which is the alliance partner of NC in J&K owes an explanation that why it maintained a stoic silence and did not seek action against the NC additional general secretary and former Minister, Dr Mustafa Kamal who termed India as enemy and Pakistan as friend. He said this is a serious issue as it has become a custom now that the leaders of Kashmir centric political parties issue such statements, which are designed to appease the anti national elements and blackmail the Central Government. Khajuria said whatever Dr Kamal has said is a clear case of sedition and hence this person should be arrested and punished for such an act. He said any one who makes anti-national utterances and challenges the unity and integrity of the country should be put behind bars. One is astonished to see that how Congress Party is compromising on issues concerning national interests. He said some Congress leaders just performed a formality by opposing the statement of Dr Kamal. This is nothing except a formality. If Congress is honestly against what Dr Kamal said then why it does not break ties with NC and came out of Government to prove its nationalist credentials. He also demanded punishment for those leaders who are threatening of serious consequences if Afzal Guru, the mastermind of Parliament attack is hanged. These leaders should be booked under sedition, he added.
