Rs 51 cr released for Kathua Medical College

JAMMU, Jan 16: Minister for Heath and Medical Education Bali Bhagat today said that Rs 51 crore have been released for the construction of Administrative Block of  Govt Medical College, Kathua.
In a written reply to the question of  Congress Member Th Balbir Singh in the Upper House today, the Minister said that Letter of Intent  has been issued by the Public Works (R&B) Department for taking up construction work of the Administrative  Block of the Medical College, Kathua. Moreover, funds to the tune of Rs 51 crore stand released  by the Government.
In response to another question, the Government responded that state land measuring 55 kanals 10 marlas at village Chak Sajjan near Kathua has been transferred to Health and Medical Education Department during February 2017. The mutation of land has also been attested.
He further disclosed that indent for acquisition of private land measuring 93 kanals 16 marlas at village Chak Sajjan has also been placed before Deputy Commissioner Kathua. Funds to the tune of Rs 5.93 crore have also been released  to DC on account of land compensation. The   PW(R&B) agency has been engaged by the Government to take up construction work of the Medical College.
