BSF organizes seminar on women health issues

JAMMU, Jan 16: Keeping in view difficulties being faced by women on health front, BSF organized an educative seminar on health issues of women and ways to effectively dealing with these.
On the occasion, Dr Pallavi Sharma while addressing a gathering of women educated them about techniques and approaches to redress health problems including hormonal changes among women. Dr Archana Bhat emphasised on importance of regular exercise and balanced diet.
Further, in an effort to empower women and enable them to either start their own venture or enhance their potential for gainful employment, BSF Wives Welfare Association (BWWA) has introduced numerous skill development courses.
Kamlesh Ram Awtar, BWWA president, Frontier BSF Jammu, distributed certificates for one year tailoring and beautification course completed under the aegis of BWWA in which advance training on stitching and tailoring was imparted.
BWWA has been on the forefront in providing its services to a social cause since long. It is an non- profit organization which trains and assists wives of BSF personnel in areas such as skill generation, education of children, introducing new opportunities/ avenues to wives of BSF personnel as well as their children, career counseling, health, etc so that wives of BSF personnel are geared up to face challenges in life.
Also solidarity with underprivileged people in the harsh winter conditions prevailing in Jammu region, BWWA president distributed blankets to the widows at BSF HQ Paloura.
